BOK TJUV (pronounced as book schoove) is an independent mini library/shop/studio, founded by Kean Yek, Yu Kiat & Chee Wei. It revolves around the principle of sharing, providing design related books and magazines for reading, as well as promoting local designers' products. Theidea is rather simple, hoping to strive in a world filled with complicated ideas. BOK TJUV wasmoulded out of the founders’ desire to share what they love, from design, to food, to music with those who harbour the same sentiments.

The core concept of BOK TJUV is to inspire, as co-founder Yu Kiat elaborated, “We hope visitors would steal ideas from our range of books and magazines, and find some inspiration to take home along the way. That's why we named it BOK TJUV, which means ‘Book Thief’ in Swedish.”

BOK TJUV’s space currently has a Book Exchange Program where visitors are welcomed to drop, exchange, share, or take used books and magazines, a mini Library, a shop selling uniquely curated items from local designers, and a studio to support networking and interaction with likeminded people.

The future is bright and exciting for these three local lads. They are looking forward to working on more collaborative projects with local designers while focusing on organizing more events - exhibition, design forum, and workshops - in the near future. The ultimate dream of this unique endeavour is to transform BOK TJUV into a home-stay with a library, a shop, and a cafe.
